Feeling Kind of BLAH

I don't know about the other adoptive parents out there waiting for their babies, but lately I've just been feeling kind of blah and down and out of sorts......I can't explain it....I never think about the adoption much anymore and when people ask me about it, it's like I rattle off the same spill about where CCAA is at with referrals, where we are, and then that's it....it's almost like I'm reciting a script from a play or standing there watching someone tell the whole story. I haven't bought anything for the baby which usually I will at least buy a little something: hairbows, a pair of socks, a cute shirt, etc. But lately I've gotten nothing. Yesterday our FCC Group had a picnic at a park and we didn't even discuss going....it's like we knew we wouldn't so we didn't even talk about it. Now don't get me wrong....I LOVE our FCC group and the friends we have there are WONDERFUL but I just seem to be in some sort of funky mood where the adoption thinggie and being a mommy just seems foreign to me....like it's never going to happen so why worry about it??? It's feels really weird.

Hey, I Survived ANOTHER Mother's Day With No Baby!!!!

Well, last year at this time we thought for sure that this year would find me with a baby in my arms as Mother's Day came, but alas......no baby......no end in sight! I just tried not to think about it much. Actually we visited my brother and his family Saturday night and I got my "baby fix" holding my little niece, Jenna and playing with my 10 year old "mini-me" Caitlin and cutie pie nephew Zachary. Doug got me a giftcard from CATOS so I can go shopping and the 2nd season of Happy Days DVDs which I've been wanting. What a sweet hubby I have!!!! He was reassuring and said, "You'll be a mommy honey.....hang in there!" Plus I have my feline babies to spoil too! Thank God for my cats!!!!!! One of my favorite musicals has always been The Wizard of Oz and for some reason tonight I thought about song, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow." I feel like that's where my baby is........"Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high. There's a land that I heard of once in lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue, and the dream that you dare to dream really does come true." Here's to the time place when my dreams of being a mommy will eventually come true. Right now I feel like CCAA is the big bad witch trying to stop me from getting to my baby........where's that bucket of water? Curses to the flying monkeys too! hahahaha

China Province Swap/Scrapbook

Well, some really creative people on Marching Pandas Yahoo Group thought of a cool idea. People signed up and were assigned 2 provinces/major cities of China to research. We then had to create scrapbook pages on those provinces/cities for the 15 people who signed up. Yesterday, I started getting pages from different people and am LOVING reading the information they put on their pages. I bought a cute little scrapbook to put the pages in last month and am not beginning to put the pages in. WHAT FUN! I was assigned the province of Henan and the city of Beijing.(You can see pictures of the pages I created) I have finished my Henan pages for everyone and almost finished the Beijing ones so I'll probably be mailing them off this weekend! These are the kinds of projects we do as part of the group to keep up focused on the fact that we WILL have our baby girls one day AND when they are a little older, we can share with them this book that we created with our online friends! Thank GOD for the online support and friends we've made!
