Disappointed Again By CCAA

Well, the news online this morning in the adoption community is that the CCAA only did TWO days of referrals.....just two.......TWO FREAKING LITTLE DAYS! So much for a speed up, right? All those people who go to Rumor Queen and rave about how reliable she is must be out of their minds! For two weeks I have listened to people go on and on about the "rumors" that CCAA was doing this gigantic batch of referrals....throwing dates like March 5, March 14, March 23..........and like a fool, I let my guard down and started to believe that maybe this time, there really would be a speed up.....ARGH! When am I going to learn that there NEVER is going to be a speed up??? The CCAA is going to drag the month of March out as much as they can. We'll be lucky to get a referral before 2010! I really feel bad for a friend of mine who was expecting a referral in this batch and now it's not going to happen. Oh, she is being super about it all and so happy for those who will see their baby's face and I really admire her graciousness and poise. I hurt for her! This is just so unfair to all of us who continue to wait this ridiculous amount of time just to love our babies! I'm just.........................just..................oh what's the use.......

SNOWDAY...............FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh what a beautiful morning!!!!!!!!! I woke up this morning to a light blanket of beautiful snow!!!!! Oh it is just gorgeous! Of course, this means we also have no school today which is even better! I just love when it snows and everything looks so serene and lovely! I get those same old feelings I did when I was a little girl and heard the report of no school on t.v.! I'm serious.....the exact seem feelings! hahaha
Anyhow, today is all mine to have fun! Yesterday we had a day off for Martin Luther King Day and I cleaned my entire house so today I am free to sit back and do whatever I want to do. I think I am going to read a bit, work on a taggy blanket for Rebekah (I bought some new cotton flannel cloth that has I Am A Child of God on it and these little international children), and I might make a cake and some soup.....oh and watch a little bit of t.v. Right now, I'm just sitting here staring out the patio doors in amazement! Once we get Rebekah, I want to make sure that snowdays are fun for her too! That way, she can always have these feelings when it snows and can feel like a child again! Woo Hoo!

Do We DARE To Believe The Rumors??????

Ok, you would think after 33 months of waiting for the CCAA to match us with a baby and the many many many many many many many many many times we have heard that they are going to "speed up" we would learn our lesson and not believe a single word of it.....but alas, another rumor is milling around that not only have they gotten into the March 2006 LID's BUT they are apparently WELL INTO the month like they have not been before for years.....ok, someone just slap me for being stupid enough to fall for this again.....I mean, really, how many times am I going to listen to rumors like this and get my hopes up????? Well, I'm a fool again because those hopes are creeping up and there's nothing I can do to stop them! hahahahahahahahahahaha Yep, my parents must have raised the biggest fool in the world! Sorry Mom and Dad, I guess I just didn't listen to the old sayings, "once burned; twice shy." Good Lord, I've been burned so many times by these rumors, I should be a pile of freaking ashes.....So, here I sit with my "ashy" self, letting my heart hope that we will see our baby's face soon.......I guess I listened too much to the old saying, "Hope springs eternal!"

Finished Paperwork To Extend the I171H (2nd Time)

Well, today Doug and I sat down to fill out paperwork and make copies for everything we need to mail to get a second extension of our I171H. Last time we used the free extension, so this time we had to pay another $670 to get a second extension. Makes you wonder why they can extend it free the first time but not the second time. It's not OUR fault China is taking so long, but for some reason we are made to pay for their problems in China. Oh well.........I'm trying to just pay it and be thankful that we don't have to file the I800 which was more work and more paperwork than this form. At first we were going to have do that, but a bunch of adoptive parents petitioned Congress and got it changed! YAY to American Freedom of Speech! Democracy is alive and well in our country! Anyhow, it's more uplifting to think of that then to think of that big check I just had to write.......hahahahahahahahaha. Plus, I'm trying to look at it as being just one more hoop we have to jump through to get our baby girl! We're ready for you Rebekah! We'll be mailing this packet of paperwork/forms off tomorrow! HOPEFULLY we won't have to extend it again! hahahahaha

Our LID-iversary #33 Was Yesterday

With school starting back yesterday and just being SWAMPED at work, I didn't even think about our LID-iversary yesterday. It was #33 and hopefully we won't have too many more to go before China matches us with our baby! We're hanging in there and starting to dream a little more about being with her soon.
