Doing Yard Work Today!

Today was a GORGEOUS day! Much too pretty to be inside so Doug and I visited Lowes and picked up mulch, tomato plants and flowers for my patio flower beds in the back. It was about 84 degrees, sunny, and breezy......simply beautiful! What a joy to work in our yard together and see the finished product! God is truly an artist!
I love the bushes in front of our home that are now in FULL bloom and purple beside the garage is a FAVORITE!!!!! Doug did a great job cleaning out around the two trees in front of our house and putting down new mulch. He had to clip a lot of little plants and stems that had started to grow and then lay the new mulch down. Of course now we are inside and having a HUGE thunderstorm outside!hahahahahahahaha I guess we planted it and now God is watering it for us! I have the patio doors open looking from the kitchen to my pretty flower beds now! I love the little purple daisy-looking flowers and of course the others are PINK and we have ivy growing between the two from last year that was teeny-tiny when I planted it. It's STILL alive! Oh, and check out my Canadian (city-born) hubby barefooted on his mower! If his Daddy could see him now! YAY!

"Sticky" Goodies From Our Secret Pals!

Well, once again our Secret Pals have sent us a box of goodies and it arrived on a day when I needed a "pick-me-up." This month's theme was "Stickers and Sticky Things" and our pals were so creative and generous! First of all they gave us a TON of stickers to use in Rebekah's scrapbook which I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED. I'm one of those people who goes in the scrapbook aisle and pours over every kind of sticker there for hours! I just love creative stuff like that! Then, they sent a GIANT sticker book with a CD for Rebekah to play with one day and learn basic words. They also sent sticky Post It notes which we go through like crazy here in our home! Thanks! The cute idea they had was a cookbook they bought us that has all kinds of sticky, ooohy, goooey, recipes! What a creative approach to the theme! Oh, and they also remembered our "girls" with cat toys which they went crazy with! The purple catnip mouse is VERY popular in our house at the moment! The little fuzzy, jingly balls are a hit too! Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much Mr. and Mrs. Secret Pal! You guys are AWESOME and we love every thing you give us! We hope you are doing great and please know that you mean a lot to us! Gosh, you've been our Secret Pals this WHOLE TIME and you never fail to surprise and delight us with your sweet gifts! Hang in there and we will too and EVENTUALLY we'll have our baby girls!

Seriously......how much longer is this going to take??

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more
Well, we made it to the 2 year LID-iversary. For two years our paperwork has set over there in China.....just another pile of paperwork.....just another number in a never-ending list of numbers. It doesn't mean anything to them. To us it means the world and there's not a darn thing we can do to speed up the process or make them give us a referral any faster. I'm so tired of the term "LID-iversary".....at first it was a joyous occassion to mark off one month and then the other, but at this point with our hearts invested in this process for TWENTY FOUR LONG ARDUOUS GRUELING MONTHS we wonder how much longer it will be. I don't think anyone has ever had to go this long......I just don't understand why China continues to accept paperwork when they can't even get to the ones that have been waiting for two years. Looks like to me if they stopped taking paperwork and doing the reviewing and stuff and concentrated on MATCHING those of us already logged in, we could get this situation resolved. Why don't they hire more people to do the stuff that needs to get done? I'll tell you why....their hearts aren't the ones breaking and aching to have babies, that's why. It's just a job for them and for us, the waiting parents, it's a long, arduous LABOR OF LOVE! No one will ever be able to come to me and complain about being pregnant or having to endure a painful labor before delivering their baby! THIS HAS BEEN THE LONGEST PREGNANCY AND LABOR EVER!!!!!!
Ok........
Now that I've vented and gotton that off my chest, I will continue to wait with my darling husband because we have no choice. We are in love with this baby that we have never met or even seen a picture of. This is our daughter: plain and simple.

Little Sheep For Rebekah....Picked Out By Daddy!

The other day we were in Walmart and Doug found this little sheep that he just HAD to get for baby Rebekah. It was laying there on an aisle and he said it looked like it needed a home! What a sweet hubby I have! Anyhow, it is simply precious. When you press the tummy it sings, "Jesus loves the little children. All the children of the world. Red, and yellow, black and white; they are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world." I remember being a little girl and learning this song and asking my mom what color baby I would have one day......who knew that I would have a Chinese baby???? Anyhow, I just thought this was the cutest little sheep! I hope Bekah will love it too!
